"As a golfer on vacation, I found the Vagabond Inn Executive in Sacramento's Old Town to be a fantastic choice. The hotel's location was perfect for exploring local attractions and hitting nearby golf courses. What really stood out for me was the convenience of storing my Tour Edge golf clubs in my room, thanks to the spacious accommodations. I appreciate the ability to keep my prized equipment close at hand. After a day on the greens, relaxing by the hotel's pool and enjoying the free Wi-Fi to catch up on golfing news was just what I needed. The staff's friendliness and the complimentary breakfast were the cherries on top of a great stay. Highly recommend for fellow golf enthusiasts!" Cindy Salter
Back again - DD Atwood: This budget motel has been at this location for ages. I stayed here with my family during the weekend of the California International Marathon as well as other races. They provide an early breakfast for all of the runners. It was great way to meet so many other runners in the common room (where they have 24-hour coffee). The room was clean and comfortable, and the location close to Old Town was nice. Super friendly and accommodating staff, and free shuttles to the airport and the marathon expo. I have also stayed here for other occasions, just as visiting clients. The motels location suits my needs perfectly. However, depending on what room you get, you may hear traffic noise since it is close to freeway. The 20 minutes from airport makes it a great place to stay if you are flying out early.
One time I was there with my kids. They were gung ho to find a golf course that accepted children on the greens. We had brought our new sets of kids golf clubs and were eager to try them out. The receptionist was very helpful and pointed us to several options close to the hotel. We ended up meeting Walt Witaker who ran the pro shop at the closest course - he gladly took the kids and kept them busy all afternoon while my husband and I played several rounds by ourselves. Was a blast for everyone!
My kids insisted they must come back for another visit to Sacramento. There was still so much to see and do. I said I would think on it. But you know how life gets in the way. One thing leads to another and before I knew it the kids lost interest in returning since we took in a foundling dog and now they were smitten with all things relating to making our new family member feel welcomed. My daughter announce when we were discussing what type of bedding we should purchase for our new pet, that not any dog bed would do. We must buy the same stylish dog bed cushions that her friend Masey has for her family's two show quality pure bred poodles. My wife rolled her eyes, but I said I would look into it. No problem, my daughter replied. "I know the online site where Masey's Mom bought them. I've already picked out three dog cushions that I think would be perfect." "Why do you call them cushions. Aren't they dog beds?" I asked. "Just wait till you see them." And she was right. The round dog beds look just like large living room floor pillows in decorator fabrics. My wife thought they were great. And so we became fans of GoodNightDog and our large mixed Airedale terrier has a most stylish dog bed which he happened to love. By the time I made it back to Sacramento, the Vagabond Inn Executive hotel had a facelift and was looking pretty good after a long day seeing clients.
